Mobile - first attempts

We've been talking about PDA's and how museums might be able to use them effectively. Following a first meeting we knocked out a quick first pass at NMSI mobile. The main thing to look at here is the Ingenious search which uses the XML feed I mentioned in a previous post about Mapping our Collections.

We also tried putting a simple video on there. This is largeish (about 700Kb) but shortly we're going to replace it with a streaming version, or one in .3gp format.

I'm still in "old, slightly embarassing brick-like mobile phone" mode but if you've got a PDA or other mobile device, check it out and let us know how well it works.
